DOH evacuates patients, staff of 5 Covid-19 treatment facilities

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday evacuated and transferred the patients and staff of five Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facilities (TTMFs) to Oplan Kalinga Hotels in the metropolis.

In a statement, the DOH said these facilities include the Ninoy Aquino Stadium (NAS), Rizal Memorial Coliseum (RMC), Philippine Arena, and Philippine International Convention Center.

"About 36 patients and 26 staff of NAS were transferred to Nice Hotel Mandaluyong; 41 patients and 26 staff of RMC were transferred to Nice Hotel Arayat; 41 patients and 15 staff from PH Arena arrived at Nice Hotel McArthur, and 28 patients and 32 staff of PICC have been relocated to Nice Hotel North Edsa," it added.

Meanwhile, Centers of Health Development (CHD) in areas hit by Typhoon Ulysses have prepositioned drugs, medicines, medical supplies, health kits, personal protective equipment, and other Covid-19 supplies worth some PHP26.85 million.

The DOH said Health Emergency Response Teams are on alert for deployment while hospitals have prepared standby functional generator sets and critical or life-saving equipment.

It added CHDs in Regions 1, 2, 3, 4-A, 4-B, 5 and the Cordillera Administrative Region have 24/7 Operation Centers monitor and coordinate the effects of 'Ulysses' with the Provincial Health Offices, Provincial DOH Offices, and Local Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council. (PNA)
