COTABATO CITY—The administrative code of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) was enacted into law.

BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim and Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament Speaker Pangalian Balindong led the ceremonial signing on Tuesday afternoon the Bangsamoro Administrative Code during a parliament session.

"At last, we now have our own legitimate administrative code,” Ebrahim said following his signing of the new regional law during the session that ended at 5 p.m.

The BARMM administrative code defines the structural, functional, and procedural principles and rules of the region's governance.

Members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority unanimously approved the proposed code on Oct. 28. It was published for 15 days in a regional tabloid before its enactment into law on Tuesday.

“There is a reason for the Bangsamoro people to be jubilant because of our administrative code,” Balindong said. (PNA)
