BUTUAN CITY – Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Caraga (PDEA-13) and the Nasipit Municipal Police Station (NMPS) in Agusan del Norte have confiscated some PHP250,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation on Wednesday afternoon.

Dindo Abellanosa, PDEA-13 public information office chief, told the Philippine News Agency Thursday that the buy-bust operation in Nasipit town resulted in the arrest of Edwin Anunciado, 46, and a resident of Butuan City.

“The suspect is a drug surrenderer but was lately monitored of continued engagement in the selling of illegal drugs in the area,” Abellanosa said.

He said Anunciado, who previously surrendered to the Butuan City Police Station (BCPS) 2 for drug-related charges, yielded around 50 grams of shabu and other pieces of evidence.

“The intensified anti-illegal drug campaign of PDEA-13, under the leadership of Regional Director Aileen Tan Lovitos, is in line with the continuing directive of Pres. Rodrigo R. Duterte to end the drug menace in the country,” Abellanosa said.

He said the suspect would face criminal charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
