Zamboanga anti-drug ops net 7

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Operatives of the Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested seven drug persons in separate anti-drug operations in the region, an official said Thursday.

Capt. Edwin Duco, PRO-9 information officer, identified the suspects as Renante Sale Venas, 40; Rodel Villarcampo Pagsuguiron, 31; Russel Villarcampo Pagsuguiron, 27; Mursid Alkis Sali, 38; Percival Pablo Gumahad, 51; Charlie Lloyd Largo Ontolan, 25; and Norwin Tayrus, 18.

Duco said Venas and the two Pasuguirons were arrested with some PHP20,400 worth of shabu in a buy-bust around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday in Barangay Militar, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur.

Sali and Gumahad, meanwhile, yielded some PHP6,800 worth of shabu and PHP500 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust around 4 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay Recodo, police said.

Ontolan, on the other hand, yielded some PHP1,000 worth of suspected shabu, a cellular phone, and PHP500 when arrested in a buy-bust around 8:45 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay Banale, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

Meanwhile, police said Tayrus yielded some PHP15,000, four sachets of dried marijuana and PHP500 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday in Barangay Biasong, Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte.

Duco said the suspects will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
