BUTUAN CITY – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Caraga (PDEA-13) destroyed some PHP22.7 million worth of seized illegal drugs Thursday, coinciding with the observance of the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Week.
“The illegal drugs destroyed are from the disposed of cases at the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branches 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 33 in Butuan City and RTC Branch 34 in Cabadbaran City,” PDEA-13 chief information officer Dindo Abellanosa told Philippine News Agency Thursday.
Abellanosa said the destroyed illegal drugs were confiscated during the drug operations in the years 1999, 2000, 2007, and from the years 2014 until 2019
“All the necessary legal documents for the destruction of said illegal drugs were prepared and secured by the Legal and Prosecution Section (LPS) of PDEA-13,” Abellanosa said.
The destroyed drugs consisted of 2,940 grams of shabu worth PHP19.9 million and 23,350 grams of marijuana worth PHP2.8 million, he said. (PNA)
