MANILA – The Philippines’ Covid-19 task force has created the Data Resiliency for Ease Access and Management (DREAM) Team that will deploy, build capacity, and monitor the use of information communications technology (ICT) solutions that are part of the official Covid-19 ICT ecosystem, Malacanang said on Friday.

In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) said the DREAM Team shall be composed of members of ICT personnel from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), Department of Health (DOH), and Department of Science and Technology (DOST).

Also included are the Philippine National Police-Directorate for Information and Communication Technology Management (PNP-DICTM), and Armed Forces of the Philippines-Information Systems Management Division (AFP-ISMD).

Roque said the involvement of the PNP-DICTM and the AFP-ISMD in the team is for supplementary purposes for the ICT capacity needed.

“The DREAM Team will not be involved in any data collection activities,” he said.

Roque said the creation of the DREAM Team would empower local government units (LGUs) to be more confident in using the ICT ecosystem that would help the government defeat the pandemic.

“The team will join the NTF CODE Teams in the NTF (National Task Force) caravan in their various seminars with local government units (LGUs) throughout the country to help deploy, train, and provide support on the use of IATF information systems like FASSTER, COVID-Kaya,” he said. (PNA)
