COTABATO CITY – Anti-narcotics agents have arrested four suspects, including three females, and seized some PHP102,000 worth of shabu during a drug sting operation in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on Wednesday night.
Nabbed were Merlyn Bonea Alam, Sharon Pascual Ansaw, Jocelyn Bangkulit Casada, and Lucky Love “Nasser” Cantiver, a dismissed Army soldier.
The main target, identified as Boy Alam, the husband of Merlyn, eluded arrest.
“The operation also led to the dismantling of a drug den in the area,” said Anthony Naive, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Maguindanao officer.
Naïve said the operation was carried out around 9 p.m. in Sitio Tinago, Barangay Tamontaka following month-long surveillance.
“The suspects were surprised that they were immediately surrounded by lawmen following their deal with an undercover agent,” Naive said.
Seized from the suspects were some 15 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP102,000; disposable lighters; glass tubes; an improvised bamboo sealer; mobile phones, and the PHP500 marked money.
Charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Act of 2002) were filed against the suspects. (PNA)
