Central Luzon reports 87.6% recovery from Covid-19

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – At least 87.6 percent of those who tested positive for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in Central Luzon has recovered.

Based on the latest regional case bulletin of the Department of Health-Central Luzon Health Development (DOH-CLHD), the total number of recoveries in the region is 20,673 out of the total 23,608 cases.

The DOH-CLHD also reported that there are currently 2,068 active cases or 8.8 percent of the total number of patients.

Of these, 1,269 are mild cases, 739 are asymptomatic, 50 are severe, and 10 in critical condition.

On the other hand, the DOH-CLHD said the total number of those who succumbed to Covid-19 in the region is 867, which is 3.7 percent of the total caseload.

As of Dec. 8, there are 223 new cases reported in the region.

Bulacan has the highest number of new cases with 56; followed by Bataan with 45; Pampanga, 42; Tarlac, 25; Nueva Ecija, 24; Angeles City, 18; Zambales, eight; and Olongapo City, five.

Aurora has zero Covid-19 cases.

The DOH-CLHD is reminding the public not to be complacent and to strictly observe the minimum health standards especially during the holidays.

DOH-Region 3 (Central Luzon) director Cesar Cassion earlier said that wearing face masks, frequent washing of hands, observing physical distancing, staying at home, and foregoing non-essential travels are still important to keep everyone safe and protected from Covid-19. (PNA)
