DAGUPAN CITY – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has arrested the province’s top 4 high-value target (HVT) in a buy-bust in Barangay San Miguel in Calasiao town.

The suspect was identified as Arnel Sanchez, of Sitio Aling Barangay Pantal in this city.

In an interview on Thursday, PDEA Pangasinan team leader Rechie Camacho said Sanchez is considered as an HVT operating in the city and in Central Pangasinan.

Authorities entrapped Sanchez Wednesday night, where eight heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu with a total weight of 1.5 grams worth PHP10,000 were seized from him.

Also confiscated were three pieces of boodle money and one marked money used in the operation, and an analog cellular phone.

Sanchez was previously arrested in 2019 for violation of Republic Act 10591, also known as Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.

The operatives found drugs and other contraband in his house.

He got away after a plea bargain, but engaged in illegal drug peddling again soon after, police said. (PNA)
