DSWD continues SAP distribution in Tarlac City

ASSISTANCE. TARLAC CITY, Tarlac – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) continued the distribution of the second tranche of the emergency cash subsidy under the social amelioration program (SAP) to its beneficiaries here.
 
In collaboration with the city government, the DSWD started the distribution of financial assistance to 2,200 qualified beneficiaries on Wednesday and will end on Friday.
 
Mayor Cristy Angeles said the SAP distribution is divided into three days to maintain safe physical distancing and avoid coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) transmission.
 
Meanwhile, a total of 27 Tarlaquenos have recovered from Covid-19 as confirmed by the Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday.
 
This brought the total number of recoveries to 1,563 while the active cases went down to 126.
 
The Tarlac Covid-19 Task Force said of the new recoveries, eight came from the Paniqui town, five  from Capas, three each from this city and  Lapaz, two from Gerona and one each from Camiling, Bamban, Concepcion, San Jose, Mayantoc and Moncada.
 
The task force also reported nine new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 1,763.
 
Four of the new cases came from the city, three from Gerona, and one each from San Clemente and Concepcion.
 
The total number of deaths remains at 73. (PNA)
