7 LGUs in NegOcc log zero active Covid-19 cases

BACOLOD CITY – Seven towns and cities in Negros Occidental have zero active cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) as of Feb. 9, based on the report released by the provincial government on Wednesday afternoon.

These are Binalbagan, Candoni, Ilog, La Castellana, Pulupandan, Himamaylan City and Victorias City.

The cumulative report includes the confirmed cases in all the 31 local government units (LGUs), including 19 municipalities and 12 component cities in the province.

Data showed that Negros Occidental currently has 87 active cases out of the 6,730 confirmed cases, which also include 6,430 recoveries and 213 deaths.

Of the total active cases, San Carlos City has 26; Silay City, 7; Escalante City, 6; Sagay City, 5; E.B. Magalona and Manapla, 4 each; Calatrava, Hinoba-an, Pontevedra, Toboso, Bago City, and Sipalay City, 3 each; Murcia, Valladolid, Cauayan, Cadiz City, and Talisay City, 2 each; Hinigaran, Isabela, Moises Padilla, Don Salvador Benedicto, San Enrique, Kabankalan City and La Carlota City, 1 each.

The confirmed cases include 3,453 males and 3,277 females while the highest number of cases was in the 22 to 45 age bracket with 3,470. (PNA)
