Zambo del Sur, OccMin police ops net 2 most wanted persons

MANILA – Authorities arrested two most wanted persons (MWP) in separate operations in Occidental Mindoro and Zamboanga del Sur, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said on Friday.

In a statement, PNP chief, Gen. Debold Sinas said murder suspect Lersan Odon alias 'Michael' was arrested by members of the Police Regional Office-4B (PRO-Mimaropa) and local police in Barangay Magbay, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro at around 9 p.m. on February 10.

Odon is listed as the top 6 MWP in Calabarzon and has a warrant of arrest issued by a Laguna court in 2018.

Based on initial investigation, Odon fled to San Jose, Occidental Mindoro and used the fake name Zander Rivera Odon where he worked as a backhoe operator at the Busuanga River Quarry.

Meanwhile, Fenel John Chavez was arrested in a manhunt by the Iligan City police and the PNP Anti-Kidnapping group in Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur on Thursday.

Chavez is listed as the top 7 MWP of the Iligan City Police Office and is the subject of an arrest warrant for murder issued by an Iligan City court in 2004.

The suspect yielded a .45 caliber pistol, various ammunition, a converted .22 caliber air rifle, two mobile phones, and assorted IDs.

Chavez was also found to be involved in gun-for-hire activities. He was brought to Ramon Magsaysay Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition. (PNA)
