BOC seizes P45-M fake toys, other goods in Bulacan warehouse

MANILA – Customs officials seized PHP45 million worth of counterfeit toys and other items in raid at a warehouse in Bulacan.

In a statement Thursday, the bureau said the personnel of the Manila International Container Port’s (MICP) Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) seized the items in a warehouse in Guiguinto, Bulacan on February 9.

Aside from fake toys, the BOC added that the inspection also resulted in the discovery of helmets, steel, resins, and various types of machinery among others.

Initial investigation revealed that the shipment came from China.

It added that further probe is underway for the possible filing of cases for violation of Section 1400 of RA 10863 also known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA) as well as pertinent Intellectual Property Laws.

The operation is also in coordination with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). (PNA)
