Calabarzon criminal group member falls in Laguna

MANILA – A suspected member of a criminal group in Laguna was arrested during a police operation on Thursday.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Debold Sinas identified the suspect as Ramir Corcolon, a member of Asval Criminal Group involved in gun for hire, gunrunning and robbery extortion activities operating in Region 4-A (Calabarzon).

Corcolon was the subject of a search warrant operation conducted by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and local police in Barangay VII-B, San Pablo City.

Corcolon is facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and has a standing arrest warrant issued by the Santa Cruz, Laguna Regional Trial Court last month.

Recovered from his possession were one piece .45 caliber Colt pistol; several ammunition, an improvised explosive device, and a fragmentation grenade.

The arrested suspect was brought to the CIDG Laguna for documentation and proper disposition. (PNA)
