ZAMBOANGA CITY--Police arrested two suspected big-time drug pushers classified as high-value targets (HVTs), the chief of the Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) said Wednesday.

Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan said one of the suspects, Rithar Abdulkarim, 38, was arrested in a buy-bust around 12:10 a.m. Wednesday in Katatagan Subdivision, Barangay Calarian.

Ylagan said the operatives of Zamboanga City Police Office’s (ZCPO) Station 11 seized from Abdulkarim some 51 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated worth PHP347,000, a shotgun with three ammunition, and the PHP1,000 marked money.

The other suspect, Jay-ar Corro, 28, was arrested in a buy-bust around 8:20 p.m. Tuesday in Barangay San Miguel, Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte.

Ylagan said the local policemen and the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) seized from Corro some PHP47,600 worth of suspected shabu and the PHP500 marked money.

PRO-9 is currently focusing on HVTs as they are the primary sources of illegal drugs, he said. (PNA)
