CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Some PHP6.2 million worth of party drugs, known as ecstasy, was seized in Mabalacat City, this province on Thursday afternoon.
Joint elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency National Capital Region (PDEA-NCR) and PDEA Region III-Pampanga Provincial Office, Bureau of Customs, Philpost Inspectorate Service, and the local police conducted a controlled delivery operation that led to the arrest of Agatha Lavadia Palen at the Mabalacat City Post Office, in Barangay San Francisco, Mabalacat City.
The 27-year-old Palen, of C-2 Feliciano Compound Barangay Dau, Mabalacat City, was authorized in writing by the consignee to claim the package.
Investigation showed the package originated from Germany and came from a sender identified as Keven Owen and was consigned to a certain Zhyelle Marquez Ancheta of Mabalacat City.
Seized were some 3,100 pieces of ecstasy with a current street value of PHP6.2 million, an Iphone7 cellular phone, a Bureau of Internal Revenue ID, a Philpost official acknowledgment receipt, a registry notice, an authorization letter, a photocopy of Ancheta’s ID, a parcel delivery notice and a signature record from courier service.
Appropriate charges for violation of Section 4 (importation of illegal drugs) of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act) are being prepared against the consignee and the arrested suspect. (PNA)
