PH Covid-19 recovery tally now 603,746

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday reported 491 new recovered cases, pushing the total number of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) recoveries nationwide to 603,746.

According to the DOH, the figure is equivalent to an 80.8-percent recovery rate among those who contracted the infectious disease.

The DOH also tallied 6,128 new confirmed Covid-19 cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 130,245.

Of the active cases, about 95.8 percent are mild, 2.6 percent are asymptomatic, 0.6 percent are severe, 0.38 are moderate, and 0.6 percent are in critical condition.

The DOH also logged 106 more deaths on Wednesday, pushing the death toll to 13,297.

"About 21 duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, eight are recoveries. Moreover, 47 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it said.

Data from the DOH on Tuesday showed that 19.9 percent of 39,775 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

Currently, 59 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds, 46 percent of 13,500 isolation beds, and 47 percent of 6,000 ward beds dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are utilized.

About 41 percent of 2,000 ventilators are also utilized by patients with Covid-19. (PNA)
