MANILA – The country recorded 145 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), pushing the total number of recovered cases to 646,237 on Monday.
In its 4 p.m. case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) said those who have beaten the illness account for 80.4 percent of the Philippines' total case tally which has reached 803,398, after 8,355 new infections were logged.
Meantime, the new confirmed cases brought the total active case tally to 143,726.
The agency also reported 10 new deaths, raising the death toll to 13,455.
The DOH said about 97.5 percent of the active cases are mild, 1.1 percent are asymptomatic, 0.6 percent are severe, 0.34 percent are moderate, and 0.5 percent are in critical condition.
"There were 14 duplicates removed from the total case count as eight of these are recovered cases. Moreover, 11 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation," it added.
Data from the DOH on April 4 showed that 21 percent of 21,537 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.
Currently, 61 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds, 47 percent of 13,500 isolation beds, 51 percent of 6,000 ward beds, and 43 percent of 2,000 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are utilized nationwide.
Meanwhile, 79 percent of 1,900 intensive care unit beds, 72 percent of 13,500 isolation beds, 60 percent of 6,000 ward beds, and 61 percent of 2,000 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are utilized in the National Capital Region.
The public is reminded to stay at home and to observe minimum health standards when going out.
The DOH urged those experiencing Covid-19 symptoms to immediately isolate and contact the Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams. (PNA)
