Central Luzon logs 3,694 new Covid-19 recoveries

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – A total of 3,694 more patients have beaten coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Central Luzon, pushing the region’s overall recoveries to 43,485.

The latest regional case bulletin of the Department of Health-Central Luzon Center for Health Development (DOH-CLCHD) on Monday night showed the figures represent 75.5 percent of the 57,613  total Covid-19 cases in the region since the onset of the pandemic last year.

The DOH-CLHD report also showed there are currently 13,112 active cases in Central Luzon. Of the total, 12,987 are mild, 17 are asymptomatic, 49 are severe, 40 are moderate, and 19 are in critical condition.

On the other hand, the total number of those who succumbed to Covid-19 in the region is 1,016, which is 1.8 percent of the overall tally.

As of April 5, there were 1,109 new cases reported in the region. Bulacan has the highest number with 501; followed by Pampanga with 212; Nueva Ecija with 148; Angeles City, 115; Tarlac, 73; Zambales, 26;  Bataan, 23; Olongapo City, seven and Aurora with four.

The DOH-CLHD reminded the public to continue observing minimum health protocols.

DOH-Region 3 director Cesar Cassion asked for the cooperation of everyone to win the fight against Covid-19.

“Let us not waste the sacrifices and efforts we have made since this pandemic started. Instead, let us contribute to flattening the curve by constantly practicing minimum health standards. Together, we can beat Covid-19,” Cassion said in an earlier statement. (PNA)
