MANILA – The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) on Thursday has directed regional offices (ROs) with available funds of Covid-19 Adjustment Measures Program (CAMP) under the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act (Bayanihan 2) to help those offices that have depleted funds.

In Labor Advisory No. 06, Series of 2021, the DOLE said the assistance of offices in other regions will help provide financial aid to workers from other areas.

“In the interest of service and for a more inclusive implementation of the financial assistance and cash-for-work program for displaced workers in the tourism sector, this advisory is being issued in relation to DOLE-DOT (Department of Tourism) Joint Memorandum Circular (JMC) No. 2020-001 for DOLE Regional Offices (ROs) to endorse applications to another DOLE RO in the event of depleted funds in the RO of jurisdiction,” it said.

It said ROs with depleted funds for CAMP Bayanihan 2 for the tourism sector should endorse their pending approved applications for payment to another RO with sufficient funds for processing of financial support.

The DOLE said applications should already be fully evaluated and approved prior to endorsement.

The CAMP program is a one-time PHP5,000 cash aid provided by the government to affected workers in private establishments.

The government has allocated PHP3.1 billion funds for the tourism sector workers affected by the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic. (PNA)
