BUTUAN CITY – Sixty police medical front-liners in the region have received their second dose of Sinovac vaccines, the Police Regional Office in Caraga (PRO-13) said on Saturday.

“The 60 PNP health workers in the region received their second dose of Sinovac vaccines last April 8 at the Regional Medical and Dental Unit (RDMU) 13 building in PRO-13 headquarters in Barangay Libertad,” Brig. Gen. Romeo M. Caramat Jr., the PRO-13 director, said in a statement.

Caramat said the regional police has 65 front-liners scheduled for vaccination until May 3 this year.

Last week, PRO-13 said at least 217 police officers contracted Covid-19 since the pandemic began early last year.

As of Saturday, only 20 PRO-13 personnel have active Covid-19 infection. No Covid-19 related death has been recorded among police personnel in the region.

“Despite vaccine rollout of the first and second doses of vaccines among the PNP personnel, we will always observe the minimum health standards such as wearing of facemasks and shields, maintaining physical distancing, and proper hygiene,” Caramat said. (PNA)
