MANILA – Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque on Sunday said he is “feeling better” and expressed his willingness to conduct Palace press briefings despite contracting Covid-19 anew.

In a Facebook post, Roque said he is currently on his third day in confinement but did not mention where he is confined and when he underwent his latest Covid-19 test.

He announced that he is currently undergoing treatment and that his pneumonia was treated on its onset.

“A quick update on our bout with Covid. I am better after only one vial of remdesivir and steroids. I came in at the right time since pneumonia was caught early on,” he said.

Despite feeling better, Roque said he will be confined until next week.

“Doctors won’t discharge me though until 4 more vials of remdesivir which means I will be confined until Thursday,” he said.

He noted that he will move into a temporary treatment and monitoring facility (TTMF), which usually houses asymptomatic and mild Covid-19 cases, by Friday.

“But I do feel normal already on my 3rd day of confinement, enough to do my thrice a week briefings. Will check into a TTMF on Friday to complete my 14 days of isolation,” he said.

He also thanked the public for their well wishes and prayers.

This is the second time Roque contracted Covid-19. He bared that he contracted the virus anew on Saturday.

On March 15, he announced that he tested positive for Covid-19, saying he was asymptomatic.

On March 25, Roque said he already recovered from the disease after completing his quarantine and yielding a negative result.

Roque said he would announce the new quarantine status of the National Capital Region Plus (NCR Plus) at 3 p.m. Sunday.

The next quarantine classification in NCR Plus was supposed to be announced on Saturday afternoon but moved to Sunday.

Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal, or the so-called NCR Plus, are under the most restrictive enhanced community quarantine until April 11 due to the rising number of Covid-19 infections. (PNA)
