COTABATO CITY – Two female drug suspects were arrested while PHP3.4 million worth of shabu were seized during a drug buy-bust here on Thursday morning, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) reported.
Anthony Naive of the PDEA-BARMM Maguindanao field office identified the suspects as Elena Minala Daud and Sarah Badawi Parok, both of this city.
Seized from them were 500 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP3.4 million, marked money made of photocopied PHP1,000 bills, mobile phones, and various identification cards.
Daud, who claimed she is eight months pregnant, was arrested after she handed over the shabu to an undercover agent in front of a food chain store at the corner of Quezon Avenue and Makakua Street at 7:40 a.m.
“The duo has been categorized as high-value targets and were under PDEA surveillance for the past two months,” Naive told reporters in an interview.
The suspects, who will be charged with the violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), are detained at the PDEA-BARMM detention facility at Pedro Colina Hill. (PNA)
