BAYAMBANG, Pangasinan – The construction of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) building here has started following the groundbreaking on April 14.

In an interview on Friday, BFP Pangasinan provincial director, Supt. Georgian Pascua, said the building is part of the modernization program of the BFP.

The new fire station will be a two-storey building to be situated at Barangay Zone VI in this town in a lot donated by the municipal government.

“The funding, however, for the construction is from the BFP,” Pascua said.

He said with the new structure, the BFP will have enough space for their fire trucks and a comfortable area for the firefighters and other personnel.

Pascua thanked the local government unit for its support of the BFP.

Meanwhile, Mayor Cezar Quiambao earlier said he was delighted for the BFP to have a new building and he hoped there would be more stations in far-flung barangays of the town. (PNA)
