DOH records over 13K Covid-19 recoveries Friday

MANILA – A total of 13,812 individuals have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Friday, bringing the country’s total recoveries to 860,412 or 87.8 percent of all infections, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH also reported 8,719 new confirmed infections for Covid-19, with active cases now at 102,799 or 10.5 percent of all cases in the country since the pandemic started.

Of the active cases, it said the majority at 96.4 percent have mild symptoms, followed by the asymptomatic at 1.3 percent, those with severe symptoms at 0.9 percent, those in critical condition at 0.7 percent, and those with moderate symptoms at 0.58 percent.

It also reported 159 new deaths caused by the disease, with the country’s casualties against Covid-19 now at 16,529 or 1.69 percent of all infections.

Meanwhile, 82 percent of the National Capital Region's (NCR) 700 intensive care unit (ICU) beds are in use, 60 percent of its 3,800 isolation beds occupied, 67 percent of its 2,200 ward beds occupied, and 62 percent of its ventilators utilized.

For the whole country, 66 percent of the total 1,900 ICU beds are occupied, 48 percent of 13,600 isolation beds are in use, 54 percent of 6,000 ward beds are in use, and 47 percent of 2,000 ventilators are utilized. (PNA
