MANILA – Police and anti-narcotics agents have arrested three suspected drug pushers and seized some PHP17.5 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Caloocan City on Wednesday night.

Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, Gen. Debold Sinas, in a statement Thursday, identified the arrested drug suspects as Josephine Rafa, 59; Mae Jane Rada, 23; and Bon Joni Visda, 25.

He added that the buy-bust operation against the suspects stemmed from reports on their illegal drug activities which was validated by a week-long surveillance operation.

Upon validation of the information, local police and agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) conducted the operation in Barangay 188, Tala, Caloocan City.

The suspects were immediately arrested after selling shabu to police undercover operatives.

Seized from the suspects were assorted sachets and packages of shabu weighing around 2,575 grams and other drug paraphernalia.

"Our joint anti-illegal drugs operation with PDEA will continue with the help and cooperation of the public, we can definitely eradicate illegal drugs in the country," Sinas said. (with Priam Nepomuceno/PNA)
