ZAMBOANGA CITY – This city registered both the highest recoveries and number of cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in the region, the Department of Health-Region 9 (DOH-9) said Saturday.
DOH-9 showed that the city registered 4,863 recoveries out of the total confirmed cases of 6,891 as of May 4.
Zamboanga del Sur came in second with 1,358 recoveries, followed by Zamboanga del Norte, 634, Zamboanga Sibugay, 439, and Isabela City, 252.
Zamboanga del Sur trailed the city in terms of the number of cases, at 1,802. Zamboanga del Norte came in third with 1,122; Zamboanga Sibugay, 579; and, Isabela City, 362.
DOH-9 data showed there are 2,824 active cases in the region: Zamboanga City, 1,752; Zamboanga del Norte, 456; Zamboanga del Sur, 389; Zamboanga Sibugay, 124; and Isabela City, 103.
Data also showed that there are 381 recorded Covid-19 mortalities in the region, with Zamboanga City recording the highest at 273, followed by Zamboanga del Sur, 55; Zamboanga del Norte, 31; Zamboanga Sibugay, 14; and Isabela City, eight. (PNA)
