CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY -- Misamis Oriental's Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) said Tuesday that it has inoculated at least 18,230 front-liners and senior citizens with AstraZeneca and CoronaVac Covid-19 vaccines.

Dr. Jerie P. Calingasan, Provincial IATF chief, said those who received the shots should "not too complacent," especially that the province and its nearby cities and provinces are experiencing a surge of cases.

"We should work together and protect ourselves, our family (from Covid-19). We should follow and believe in the health protocols," Calingasan said.

He assured that the local task force would always be consistent in monitoring violators of health protocols.

Meanwhile, Gov. Yevgeny Vicente Emano said the provincial government is closely monitoring all Capitol departments, noting that one of its offices--Provincial Population Commission--recorded a 90 percent infection rate among its employees.

“We cannot sacrifice the whole province for a few,” Emano said, even as he assured that Capitol services will continue, but with strict adherence to health protocols. (PNA)
