MANILA – Motorists are advised to avoid parts of the Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (Edsa) and C5 road over the weekend due to road reblocking works of the Department of Public Works on Highways (DPWH).

In a traffic advisory on Friday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said the road works will begin at 11 p.m. until early morning Monday, with roads “fully passable” by 5 a.m.

Affected areas are Edsa northbound near corner Kaingin Road in Quezon City; Edsa southbound opposite Trinoma Mall, the second lane from the sidewalk; Edsa Southbound, Cloverleaf, Edsa southbound to A. Bonifacio Avenue, the first lane from the sidewalk; C5 Road, before M. G. Dizon (Cliff Drive) St, the second lane from the sidewalk; and C5 Road, before Magsaysay, third lane from the sidewalk.

There will also be road works at the first lane from the sidewalk at West Avenue, Times Street to Quezon Avenue.

The MMDA said motorists may take del Monte Avenue as an alternate route.

“Motorists are advised to avoid the said areas and take alternative routes instead as traffic buildup is expected,” the MMDA said. (PNA)
