Taguig buy-bust yields P13.6-M worth of shabu

MANILA – Police and anti-narcotics agents have arrested two suspected drug pushers and seized some PHP13.6 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Taguig City on Saturday.

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) spokesperson Derrick Carreon identified the suspects as Melanie Capin, 35, resident of San Marino Salawag, Dasmariñas, Cavite and Jeffrey Sadiasa, 31, resident of Carnation St., T. S. Cruz Subdivision, Las Piñas City.

He said Capin and Sadiasa were immediately arrested after selling shabu to police undercover agents in an open parking lot of Sunshine Mall in FTI, ARCA South, Taguig City.

The operatives seized some two kilos of suspected shabu valued at PHP13.6 million, a mobile phone, and 16 bundles of boodle money with one genuine PHP1,000 bill from the suspects.

The suspects will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (PNA)
