7 nabbed in Zambo anti-drug ops

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities arrested seven people in separate anti-drug operations in this city and nearby Zamboanga del Norte province, a top police official said Wednesday.

Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-9 (PRO-9) director, identified the suspects as Anuar Sairi, 27; Maylinda Cuevas, 42; Den-Den Ambutong, 23; Hakam Saymuddin, 40; Jarrin Jalmaani, 39; Nur-In Laudin, 32; and Rojan Hajihil, 30.

Ylagan said Sairi yielded some PHP17,000 worth of suspected shabu and PHP300 marked money when arrested in a buy-bust around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday in Barangay Kasanyangan.

Cuevas, meanwhile, yielded some PHP20,400 worth of suspected shabu and PHP300 marked money when arrested in an anti-drug operation around 11:50 p.m. Tuesday in Barangay Baliwasan.

Ambutong and Saymuddin, on the other hand, were nabbed in separate buy-busts around 2:45 p.m. and 11 p.m. Tuesday, respectively, in Barangay Kasanyangan.

Police said Ambutong yielded some PHP29,240 worth of suspected shabu and PHP500 marked money while from Saymuddin some PHP10,200 worth of illegal drugs and PHP300 marked money.

Jalmaani was found in possession of some PHP3,400 worth of suspected shabu and PHP200 marked money when arrested in an anti-drug operation around 5:07 p.m. Tuesday in Barangay Arena Blanco.

Police said Laudin and Hajihil were arrested in separate anti-drug operations around 12:45 p.m. and 2 p.m. Tuesday, respectively, in Barangay Suhaile Arabi, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.

Lauding yielded some PHP17,000 worth of suspected shabu, PHP500 marked money, while from Hajihil some PHP12,240 worth of illegal drugs and other pieces of evidence.

Ylagan said drug charges are set to be filed against the suspects. (PNA)
