30.4K Sinovac jabs arrive in Zamboanga

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The Department of Health (DOH)-Zamboanga Peninsula Center for Health Development (CHD) received Tuesday the latest shipment of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines in the region.

Dr. Augusto Manolo Alpichi, DOH assistant regional director, said the region's 12th vaccine shipment consisted of 30,400 doses of Sinovac.

Alpichi said it is intended for the remaining eligible population who fall under the A1 (medical front-liners), A2 (senior citizens), and A3 (persons with comorbidities) priority groups.

Alpichi said they have already received a total of 290,900 doses of vaccines from the DOH central office since March 5.

Alpichi said these include 163,800 Sinovac, 125,600 AstraZeneca, and 1,500 Sputnik V jabs.

He said they have so far inoculated 161,336 individuals in the entire region.

Out of this figure, 118,970 received their first dose while the remaining 42,366 got their second dose.

The DOH-9 covers the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay, Zamboanga del Norte, and Zamboanga del Sur and the cities of Isabela and Zamboanga as well as the Sulu Central Sanitarium, a DOH-run hospital. (PNA)
