CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – June 15 is a special non-working holiday in this province in observance of the 30th anniversary of the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo.

Proclamation No. 1159 signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea under the authority of President Rodrigo Duterte, declared Tuesday next week as special non-working holiday.

“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the province of Pampanga be given full opportunity to commemorate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies, subject to community quarantine, social distancing, and other public health measures,” the proclamation posted on the official social media account of the provincial government on Friday read.

To render appropriate tribute to those who perished, as well as to those who survived, and to those who helped in the relocation, rehabilitation, and recovery of families affected by the volcanic eruption, the province of Pampanga requested that June 15, 2021 be declared a special non-working  day in remembrance of the ruinous volcanic eruption of Mt.
