MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato – Police officers arrested four men in separate drug buy-bust operations here on Sunday afternoon.
Lt. Col. Rolly Oranza, town police chief, said first to be arrested were Luquis Ampatuan, Hasanor Macaagal and Venus Latosa, all residents of Barangay Poblacion 1.
The fourth suspect, identified as Omar Samama Guiapal was collared in Barangay Kadigasan, also in this town.
“The twin operations were carried out at past 5 p.m. Sunday,” Oranza told reporters here Monday.
Acting on tips from concerned citizens about the illegal activities of the suspects, Oranza said all were arrested after they handed over suspected shabu items to undercover agents of the Midsayap police.
He said both operations yielded a total of PHP24,000 worth of shabu.
“All suspects did not resist arrest,” Oranza said, adding that police probers are determining if the four suspects belong to an organized illegal drug group operating in North Cotabato and Maguindanao provinces.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being prepared against the suspects. (PNA)
