COTABATO CITY – A total of 371 patients recovered from coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Region 12 as of Thursday night, the region’s Department of Health (DOH) office here reported.
Arjohn Gangoso, speaking for DOH-12, said of the total recoveries, 165 are from Sarangani; South Cotabato – 91; General Santos city – 46; North Cotabato – 40; and Sultan Kudarat – 29.
“There is somehow a feeling of fulfillment on our part as health workers that many patients have beaten the virus with our help,” he told reporters Friday.
The region, meanwhile, recorded 153 new infections.
Of the new cases, General Santos City has 59; followed by Sarangani with 35; North Cotabato – 27; South Cotabato – 22; and Sultan Kudarat – 10.
Currently, he said the Covid-19 recovery rate is at 84 percent based on the cumulative 19,205 recovered patients from 22,986 confirmed cases since March last year.
Active cases are at 3,058 with South Cotabato topping the active case tally at 1,265; General Santos City – 679; North Cotabato – 542; Sarangani – 399; and Sultan Kudarat – 173.
Gangoso said the region's Covid-19 death toll stands at 719. (PNA)
