CEBU CITY – Senator Christopher “Bong” Go registered the highest overall trust rating among incumbent senators, according to the latest survey of a political consultancy firm.

In its July 13 to19 poll released Saturday, PUBLiCUS Asia Inc. said Go earned the trust of 35.67 percent of 1,500 Filipinos who responded to the 2021 PAHAYAG second-quarter poll.

Go’s latest trust rating is a one-percentage-point improvement from the 35.07 percent he got in the previous quarter.

As chair of the Committee on Health and Demography, Go principally authored and sponsored the measure that became Republic Act No. 11463, otherwise known as the Malasakit Centers Act that was signed into law in 2019.

The law mandates all Department of Health-run hospitals and the Philippine General Hospital to establish their own Malasakit Centers to ensure indigent patients can conveniently access medical programs offered by the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Department of Health, Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.

There are 132 Malasakit Centers nationwide as of Saturday.

Previous frontrunner Senator Manny Pacquiao’s trust rating dropped by 28 points -- from 53.26 percent in the first quarter to 24.53 percent in the latest poll.

Senator Grace Poe was second at 35.47.
