BUTUAN CITY – The Department of Health-Caraga (DOH-13) received 480 vials or 4,800 doses of the Moderna vaccine via a Philippine Airlines flight that landed at Bancasi Airport here on Friday.

The vaccine doses were transported to the cold-chain facility to ensure their integrity and temperature, DOH-13 said in a statement on Saturday.

Moderna is a two-dose vaccine with a recommended interval of 28 days.

It requires storage temperature between minus 25 degrees to minus 15 degrees Celsius, DOH-13 added.

There are still 1,001 active cases of Covid-19 in Caraga as of Saturday, or about 4 percent of the total 25,427 infections since March last year when the pandemic began.

Recoveries are 23,597, or 93 percent of the total, while deaths have reached 829. (PNA)
