MANILA – Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has canceled Japan flights supposedly scheduled on Monday, due to ash emissions spawned by the Fukutoku-Okanoba submarine volcano eruption.

In an advisory, PAL said the cancellation was due to the ash emissions from the Fukutoku-Okanoba volcano.

The canceled flights were:

PR 428 / 427 Manila - Tokyo (Narita) - Manila
PR 422 / 421 Manila-Tokyo (Haneda) - Manila
PR 412 / 411 Manila - Osaka (Kansai) - Manila
PR 438 / 437 Manila Nagoya - Manila

Affected passengers may rebook or refund their tickets. They can also convert the ticket cost to a travel voucher.

The Manila International Airport Authority said no other airline with canceled Japan flights is on its list as of 9 a.m. Monday. (PNA)
