MANILA – Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific (CEB) announced Tuesday the mounting of a special flight on August 25 to cater to stranded Filipinos in Dubai.
This "Bayanihan flight" was coordinated with the Philippine Consulate in Dubai and the Department of Foreign Affairs, CEB said in a statement.
Passengers will be provided with free meals and an additional 25-kg baggage allowance. For those who purchased a 20-kg or 32-kg baggage allowance, on the other hand, their baggage allowance will be upgraded to up to 40-kg.
“We continue to listen to our passengers’ needs, and we want to do all we can to ease some of our kababayans' worries through this additional baggage allowance. We want them to travel and come home with peace of mind, especially in this time of crisis,” said Candice Iyog, Cebu Pacific Vice President for Marketing and Customer Experience.
Passengers are required to wear face masks and face shields during the flight and must pre-book a 14-night stay in an accredited facility.
A negative RT-PCR (reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction) test result taken 48 hours prior to flight departure is also required. Another swab test is required seven days after arrival.
Passengers must register for "One Health Pass" through the website: https://www.onehealthpass.com.ph/e-HDC/ before leaving Dubai. After registration, each passenger will be issued a personal QR code, which must be presented upon flight check-in, and upon arrival in Manila.
Further, they must accomplish the Bayanihan form from CEB at least 24 hours before the flight. The form will be available via a link that will be sent to them via email.
Meanwhile, flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) has also scheduled Bayanihan flights for stranded Filipinos abroad.
For this month, PAL still has the following flights bound for Manila:
August 18 - Dubai
August 21 - Kuala Lumpur
August 22 - Jakarta
August 22 Dubai
Requirements are the same as those listed above.
PAL also reminds all passengers, including children, must register for the Bureau of Quarantine's e-health declaration card. (PNA)
