PARANG, Maguindanao – Police arrested here Sunday afternoon a mother and her daughter wanted for possession and use of prohibited drugs.

Maj. Christopher Cabugwang, Parang town police chief, led the serving of arrest warrant against Bai Ungal Mariga, 29, and her mother, Malayda, 51, both of Barangay Gadungan.

The raiding team was armed with an arrest warrant issued by Judge Kasan Abdulrakman of the Regional Trial Court Branch 27.

Cabugwang said police teams have also been dispatched against the primary suspect, Ibrahim Mariga, 30, who managed to escape after seeing lawmen approaching his home around 4 p.m. Sunday.

“We remain positive to get the primary suspect soon,” Cabugwang said in an interview here Monday.

He said seized from the arrested suspects were two mid-sized packets of suspected shabu with a street value of some PHP25,000, marked money, and shabu paraphernalia.

Cabugwang said both mother and daughter are now detained at the police station lock-up station here. (PNA)
