MANILA – The city government of Manila on Wednesday started bringing its coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccination drive to health centers.
A total of 45 health centers in the city's six districts will start administering Covid-19 jabs for those in the A1 (medical front-liners), A2 (senior citizens), A3 (persons with comorbidities), A4 (front-liners in essential sectors, and A5 (indigents) priority groups, Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso said.
"Magandang balita, saturated na ang bakunahan sa Maynila. Kakaunti na lang ang di nababakunahan. Simula bukas pati mga health centers natin bubuksan na para iyong hindi pa, malapit na sila sa kanilang bahay (Good news, vaccination in Manila is now saturated. There are only a few left who has not been vaccinated. Starting tomorrow, we will open our health centers so it is nearer their houses),” Domagoso said during his meeting with Manila hospital directors on Tuesday evening.
The following health centers will offer vaccination against Covid-19:
District 1 - Doña Aurora Quezon, Bo. Fugoso, Bo. Magsaysay, Dagupan, Tondo Foreshore, Parola, J. Posadas, Smokey Mountain, Velasquez, and Vitas.
District 2 - Atang Dela Rama, Aurora, Bo. Obrero, Palomar, Tayabas, and Tondo health centers.
District 3 - V. Fugoso, Lanuza, Dimasalang, San Nicolas, and San Sebastian.
District 4 - Earnshaw, Luzviminda, Belmonte, Calabash, Domingo Santiago, Dapitan, Ma. Clara, Paltoc, and F. Legarda.
District 5 - Rosario Reyes, Paco, Pedro Gil, Icasiano, San Andres, Buhay Mahalaga, Intramuros, and Corazon Aquino (Calic and Baseco).
District 6 - Bagong Barangay, Esperanza, Isidro Mendoza, A.H. Lacson, J. Vicencio, Bacood, and San Miguel.
The city government has allotted 1,500 vaccine doses for each district that will be distributed to these health centers.
In an announcement, the city government also reminded its residents that walk-ins are now allowed in the health centers and at its four mall sites -- SM San Lazaro, SM Manila, Robinsons Place Manila, and Lucky Chinatown Mall.
However, walk-ins are still not allowed in the city’s drive-thru vaccination site at the Quirino Grandstand.
Meanwhile, no walk-ins are allowed in vaccination centers in 10 schools assigned for the second dose vaccination.
The city’s Covid-19 vaccination sites operate from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The city is administering the second dose of Covid-19 jabs on Wednesday for those who received their first dose on August 11.
Individuals who are waiting for their second dose of Covid-19 jabs are advised to wait for a text message from the Manila Covax for the scheduled time and date of their vaccination. (PNA)
