MANDAUE CITY, Cebu – With the industries working towards recovery from the pandemic, the Mandaue Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) has called on local businesses to rev up recovery efforts while ensuring health safety.

MCCI president Steven Yu on Wednesday said the MCCI, in partnership with the Cebu provincial government and the Department of Trade and Industry, is organizing an exhibit to feature the products of the top beneficiaries of Sugbo Negosyo, the capitol’s micro-business aid program.

This event is chaired by Contempo Property Holdings Inc. president and chief executive officer Beverly Dayanan and co-chaired by Purple Chalk Philippines managing director Mae Anne Yee.

The business community in this industrial city is celebrating the Mandaue Business Month 2021 which was officially launched on Tuesday via Zoom and Facebook Live.

The month-long celebration with the theme, “REV Up: REVive, REVisit, REVolutionize”, will focus on helping companies adapt and prepare for the new business landscape via online and hybrid events and learning sessions and community-engaging activities that will encourage Cebuanos to rediscover their identity.

MCCI vice president for internal affairs and KGK Management Inc. general manager Kelie Ko is the MBM 2021 chair, co-chaired by entrepreneur Mark Anthony Ynoc, general manager of San Remigio Beach Club.

MCCI’s new series dubbed as MCCI Kamustahan will feature resilient and inspiring MCCI members who can share how they have evolved their businesses during the pandemic through adaptability, business strategies, and good company practices, Yu said.

To revisit and appreciate Cebu culture, MCCI has launched the #SugbuanonKo Tiktok challenge to rediscover and promote Cebu province by tapping on the Sugbuanons to creatively transform their experiences into widely-relatable content through the social media platform, Tiktok.

The challengers should feature distinctively Sugbuanon landmarks, food, products, culture, and traditions.

To help revolutionize ideas, strategies, and practices in the business community, MCCI is organizing the business summit and other business seminars under the Mandaue talks business series.

As an MBM flagship program, the business summit will run again as a virtual event where top caliber speakers will share their expertise to discuss new ideas, new business paradigms and technological developments, and business and corporate excellence in the local and global landscape.

MCCI provides accessible, informative, and enriching webinars under the Mandaue talks business where experts can provide topic-based seminars, updates, guidance, as well workshops to members and other interested individuals.

The group is also organizing a 30-day online wellness challenge dubbed as the Cebu Wellness Revolution to encourage Cebuanos to create a habit of living a healthy lifestyle.

Another event to be held during MBM 2021 is the ceremonial turnover of bicycle repair stations and another span of the Butuanon Eco-fence to the Mandaue City local government.

This is a tripartite project between Mandaue City LGU, MCCI, and Vivant Foundation. (PNA)
