MANILA – Another 7,710 individuals have recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) on Friday, with the country’s total recoveries now at 1,847,701.
In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) also reported 20,310 new cases, with active cases now at 158,994 or 7.8 percent of the total case count which has reached 2,040,568 since the beginning of the pandemic.
It noted that Covid-19 cases are expected to continue to rise in the coming days.
“Ang pagsunod sa minimum public health standards, maiging pagsasagawa ng PDITR (Prevent-Detect-Isolate-Treat-Reintegrate) strategies, at pagbabakuna ay nanatiling pinakapabisang depensa sa Covid-19 (Following minimum public health standards, strict adherence to PDITR strategies, and vaccinations remain to be the most effective defense against Covid-19),” the DOH said.
Of the active cases, the majority at 96.5 percent have shown mild symptoms, followed by the asymptomatic at 1.1 percent, those with severe symptoms at one percent, those with moderate symptoms at 0.92 percent, and those in critical condition at 0.5 percent.
Another 193 new deaths, meanwhile, raised the country’s total to 33,873.
Based on the latest testing data, a total of 67,759 Covid-19 tests were administered on Wednesday and 27.4 percent returning positive for Covid-19.
Meanwhile, in the National Capital Region (NCR), there are 1,400 total beds in intensive care units (ICU) at 70 percent occupancy, 4,500 isolation beds at 61 percent occupancy, 4,300 ward beds at 72 percent occupancy, and 62 percent of 1,100 ventilators are currently in use.
For the entire country, there are currently 4,200 ICU beds at 72 percent occupancy, 20,300 isolation beds at 66 percent occupancy, 15,100 ward beds at 71 percent occupancy, and 56 percent of 3,200 ventilators are currently in use. (PNA)
