MANILA – Around 78 percent or 631 out of a total of 804 employees of the Department of Justice (DOJ) have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).
In an update Wednesday, DOJ spokesperson, Undersecretary Emmeline Aglipay-Villar, said another 54 employees have received their first dose, bringing the total number of vaccinated employees to 685.
As of Tuesday, the agency’s total confirmed cases stood at 108, 90 of which were reported this year.
Out of these 90 cases, 79 have recovered, nine are active infections while two died. No further details were provided regarding the 18 cases recorded last year.
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra earlier instructed prosecutors, especially inquest prosecutors, to make themselves available in their respective offices to receive complaints and administer oaths, even during the quarantine period.
A surge in the number of Covid 19 cases as well as a granular lockdown declared by the city government of Manila at the start of the year prompted the DOJ main office to physically shut its premises and adopt a work-from-home scheme and skeleton workforce.
The DOJ compound along Padre Faura Street in Manila is in Barangay 696, which is among the areas earlier placed under granular lockdown. (PNA)
