ORION, Bataan – The provincial government on Wednesday opened its 28th vaccination site here as part of its continuing effort to hasten the inoculation of the residents against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Governor Albert Garcia said on Thursday the opening of more vaccination centers in the province is in line with their desire of ensuring the protection of the residents at the earliest time.

The new vaccination site is the second in this town.

“Hinihikayat natin ang mga hindi pa nababakunahan na huwag mag-atubiling samantalahin ang pagkakataong mabigyang proteksyon ang sarili at pamilya sa pamamagitan ng bakuna. Maiiwasan natin ang severe symptoms ng Covid-19 na kadalasang nauuwi sa kamatayan kung tayo ay tumanggap ng kahit anong brand ng bakuna (We are encouraging those who have not yet been inoculated to seize the opportunity that could give protection to themselves and to their families through vaccination. We could avoid severe symptoms of Covid-19 which usually end in death if we accepted whatever brand of vaccine),” the governor said in an official social media account post.

He asked his constituents to cooperate and strictly comply with the health and safety protocols as the province remains under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) from Sept. 8 to 30 this year.

“Muli po ay hinihingi ang pakikiisa nang lahat sa pagsubok na patuloy nating hinaharap dulot ng pandemya. Ang ating malawak na pang-unawa at malalim na malasakit sa kapwa ay malaking ambag sa labang ito (Again, I am asking the cooperation of everyone in this challenge that we are continuously confronting caused by the pandemic. Our broad understanding and deep concern to our fellowmen are our big contribution in this fight),” he added.

As of Sept. 8, the total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in the province is 22,270 with 4,077 active cases.

The total number of recoveries is 17,402 while the total number of deaths is 791. (PNA)
