MANILA – The Philippines has administered 37,728,114 doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccines nationwide as of September 9, the National Task Force Against Covid-19 (NTF) reported on Friday.
The National Covid-19 vaccination dashboard data showed 21,589,180 received their first dose while 16,138,934 have completed two doses.
The average daily doses administered in the last seven days stood at 450,7117 doses.
The Philippines’ jabs stockpile has 53,294,130 doses, with an additional 1.5 million of Sinovac and 502,000 AstraZeneca vaccines delivered on Friday.
To date, 2,811,100 AstraZeneca doses secured through tripartite agreements have been delivered to the Philippines while an additional half a million doses are expected next week.
Vaccine czar and NTF chief Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. attributed the country's vaccination drive to the collaboration among the national government, local government units (LGUs), and the private sector.
“Nakita natin na ang ganda ng relationship ng (We've seen a good relationship national government, LGU, and the private sector working together for this pandemic,” Galvez said in a previous interview.
The government targets to inoculate 70 percent of the eligible adult population, or about 77.2 million.
Medical workers, adults with comorbidities, elderly, economic front-liners, and the indigent population are being prioritized for inoculation.
The plan to include those below 17 years old and administration of booster shots is being reviewed. (PNA)
