ZAMBOANGA CITY – Operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit-9 have arrested another big-time drug suspect in a buy-bust here, the region's top cop said on Friday.

Brig. Gen. Ronaldo Genaro Ylagan, Police Regional Office-9 chief, said the suspect as Jun-Jun Ismael, 33, of Indanan, Sulu, was nabbed in an operation around 9:30 p.m. Thursday in Sitio Asinan, Barangay Kasanyangan.

RDEU-9 operatives seized from Ismael a large plastic sachet containing 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP340,000, a sling bag, boodle money, and a genuine PHP1,000 as marked money.

Ismael will be charged with the violation of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Ismael was the third big-time drug suspect arrested by the police in anti-drug operations this week in the city.

The first was Daniel Rajal, 24, and the second was Ajid Abdulah, 27. Both were arrested in separate operations in the city last Monday. Over a million pesos worth of illegal drugs were seized from the two. (PNA)
