MANILA – Parts of the country will get cloudy skies and rains on Saturday due to the presence of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

In its 4 a.m. weather forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao will feel the effect of the ITCZ.

Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Mindanao, Central Visayas, Western Visayas, and Palawan.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers brought by the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms.

To date, Tropical Storm Chanthu (international name), formerly “Kiko”, was last estimated at 1,915 km. northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.

It packs maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gustiness of up to 105 kph, moving eastward at 40 kph.

The temperature in Metro Manila will range from 24°C to 32°C; Baguio City, 16°C to 25°C; Legazpi City, 25°C to 33°C; Metro Cebu, 23°C to 31°C; Metro Davao, 25°C to 32°C; and Zamboanga City, 24°C to 32°C. (PNA)
