DAVAO CITY - Some 87,750 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech arrived here on Thursday, bringing the total number of Covid-19 vaccine doses delivered so far in Davao Region to 2,827,840.

The Department of Health (DOH) 11 said the vaccine shipment arrived at the Davao International Airport via Philippine Airlines flight PR1811 at 07:15 a.m. and were immediately brought to the DOH-11 storage facility.

It reminded the public to respect each other’s opinions when it comes to getting vaccinated.

“Are your friends or loved ones hesitant to get Covid-19 vaccines? It’s normal, especially now that fake news is prevalent,” it said in a previous statement.

The DOH-11 also reiterated that the vaccines are safe, effective, and free as they urge everyone to get vaccinated.

As to the vaccine, Pfizer was granted emergency use authorization (EUA) to more than 70 countries including the United States of America, the United Kingdom, and member states of the European Union, Canada, and Switzerland.

The Philippine Food and Drug Administration approved the EUA of the vaccine on Jan. 14, 2021.

Common adverse events reported are short-term, mild-to-moderate pain at the injection site, fatigue, and headache. (PNA)
