23.4K new recoveries bring down PH active case count to 130K

MANILA – A total of 23,483 individuals have beaten the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), with the country’s total recoveries now at 2,396,726 or 93.4 percent of all known infections.

In its daily Covid-19 bulletin, the DOH also reported 15,566 new cases, bringing the active cases to 130,268 or 5.1 percent of all known infections, lower than Thursday's 138,294 active infections.

Of these active cases, it said the majority at 77.9 percent have mild symptoms, followed by the asymptomatic at 15 percent, those with moderate symptoms at 3.97 percent, those with severe symptoms at 2.1 percent, and those in critical condition at 0.9 percent.

It also reported 199 new deaths, with the country’s total Covid-19 casualty count now at 38,493 or 1.5 percent of all known infections in the country.

Based on the latest testing data, it said 63,850 tests were administered on Wednesday, with 21.3 percent found positive for Covid-19.

To date, 4,400 beds in intensive care units (ICU) across the country have a 73 percent occupancy rate; 21,400 isolation beds with a 61 percent occupancy rate; 15,700 ward beds with a 64 percent occupancy rate; and 3,300 ventilators with a 55 percent utilization rate.

In the National Capital Region, 1,500 ICU beds have a 75 percent occupancy rate; 4,800 isolation beds with a 52 percent occupancy rate; 4,400 ward beds with a 57 percent occupancy rate; and 1,100 ventilators with a 58 percent utilization rate. (PNA)
